shit guys, we arent taking one very important thing into account:
this is the obama society now.

fuck all of those choices,
get file for welfare, food stamps, section 8 housing, and you can also get a free fucking cell phone.

there, all of your problems solved.
welfare will cover your daily life expenses.
food stamps will keep the government cheese flowing out of glorious fountains.
the section 8 housing keeps a roof over your head.

there, i just solved every problem you will ever have.
all paid for by your socialistic retarded excuse for a president.

I say you move here and into my house.

Then get any job you can, then you can pay rent which would end up being cheap split 4 ways.

A white boy will get robbed of his food stamps and free phone in section 8 housing. And his "virginity".

Even our 15 year old servers make 10+ an hour easily.

Retail jobs in this area pay around 10-12 an hour. 15 for managers. + all workers get commission.

It's easily do able. but only if he really wants to do it.

i'm with jeffie on this one. you can get something to support yourself, you just have to be willing to do it. or even take on a second and third job.

the problem with soooo many people today is....

A) they are overqualified and would rather be unemployed than working 'below their level'.

or

B) they aren't willing to work MORE and HARDER. get a job serving and a job as a valet. 2 jobs at 60 hours a week, even if it is $8/hr.

Anybody who is unemployed right now is unemployed by choice. ie, they are too snobby for a certain job, they are unable/unwilling to move, they dont' want to commute. There ARE jobs out there, you just have to tighten your belt and suck it for a while.

There was a guy on t.v. recently that was working on wall street, now he is a server at a local restaurant. there is no shame is proving house and food for your family. hell, if i could, i would collect unemployment and work under the table doing manual labor.

I never said I was too good for a job. Apparently I haven't been looking in the right places for jobs.

The problem is, can you even MAKE rent?

$8 /hr full time = $320 a week, take home, $250 x 4 = 1000. most rent = 6-800. then, power, water, heat, etc etc, food, insurance, yadda yadda.
it doesn't work.

Flaw in this. I could help him find a job for $10 hr. Also many people in college areas, rent out rooms super cheap, like 400-500. I live in Seattle, in a great house and our rooms are 475. At that our utilities never run over 75. $550 a month isn't a lot.

I live on 200 a month for take home food, and another 200 on eating out food. That's 950 a month and a comfortable one at that.

$10x40x4.3 = 1720 gross. Let's say he loses 22.5% to taxes (exaggeration) 1333. A very low amount, would leave roughly 380 in a pocket. At that, if you ride public transportation to and from work or ride a bike, gas isn't a huge factor, and insurance is in the sub 100 range. Then factor in a cell phone.

200 to play with a month, or 50 a week in drinking a money assuming you don't save anything.

That's $10 bucks an hour, and living in my house, a newly remodeled one in the heart of the UW area.

This very speculative, and worse case scenario, but it can be done.

One possible problem issue with being over qualified and looking for a job below you is a lot of folks are weary of hiring such a person, knowing that they will be looking for another job at their level. Most folks dont want to spend the time and energy on getting someone trained to have them leave right after or in the middle.

you're right, 90% of the time. but in times like this, people understand the job market. they aren't as quick to reject when jobs are in such high demand.
