I spent today trying to figure out why SQL 2005 doesn't like a 12gb multi indexed database.... And then had to figure out why the purge script to shrink the db wouldn't work, fix the purge script, run the script, update the front end software, test it, realize it doesn't work, and back out the front end software.

Oh yeah, and then in between that had to run 80 different queries for updating the db... INDIVIDUALLY, BY HAND. :(

Well today at about 10:30am, a purchasing person, says oh fuck, which usually means my day is gonna suck. So COSS (inventory control , fucked up yet again) tacking down ACCPAC (accounting system) and COSS datacollection (job/use/inventory/time tracking) . So I go thru the usual reboot server. start db mantainence , etc etc...., well it's fucked up pretty bad, would take to many man hours to restore by hand, so now I'm reverting and restoring data from last nights backup.

Has anyone setup an ODBC driver on Linux to talk to DB2 using Data Direct as the ODBC driver? I'm having a hell of a time with that. :p

End of the month = people running around like crazy at my shop. Switched between 4 different projects on my machine today, and all them had to go get cleaned this afternoon.

I ended up not being able to even blow the coolant off my lathe between parts. So it all splashed up onto everything, anytime I ran a part. Half my shirt was soaked in blue shit and metal shavings.

Good times.

"Chris, this job needs to be done in 2 hours"
"Theres 700 parts"
....shit.
