2 days ago, went into the woods about 5:05am and setup in the stand. Around 10:40am or so I started packing another one and I started hearing some rustling behind me. Trying to look around to see what was walking and I couldnt see anything. Nothing! Getting closer and louder but I couldnt see anything and just glancing over the field that was in front of me. Their this bitch was about 270yards NE. Wind was between 10-12 mph. Still looking back to see what was behind me and the noise getting farther away I got out the savage 30/06 and watched the buck start walking away, I grunted a few times to get a response. Nothing just keeping walking further away along the tree line. SO I took the shot, buck did a hand stand and took off. I knew I hit him, so I got down and the chase was on. I got over to the tree line cut the 4wheeler off and as soon as I did I heard him fall down. Went about 100-150 yards in to the woods and there he was.

11-pointer non typical white tail buck. I would say hes about 4-5 years old. Maybe a year or two younger.

why is a tree stand and 4wheeler interesting. When you go 3-4 miles deep into the woods your not drag that SOB outta there by hand.

i just thought you were going bow hunting with a stand. i totally know how you feel about packing it out with a 4 wheeler. normally we track on foot so we can follow it better.

different hunting, same resuts. you got a great deer.

I got cha, still hunting is still hunting to me, whether you bow or gun it. I cant shoot a bow worth a shit. :)

I dont do much stalking, its mainly still hunting and we run the dogs when we have enough people. Fuck some of the people around here will fucking park there truck at the tree line at a field and shoot the fucker from the front seat of the truck. Atleast I go in the woods right? ;)

as long as you get out of the truck i'm happy. i hate when people sit at the clear cuts and just sit the rifle on the window and shoot.

I totally agree, lazy fucking people. Last year a guy shoot a 6 pointer with a 27'' spread and a base mass of 2''. All from the front seat of his truck. Which pissed me off because it was on our land. He had permission to hunt. Just the lazyness of it. We go out there and sit in the cold for hours, for days and wont see a thing, then this fat ass rolls up in a truck, shoots the dear and catches a record. We banned him after that.

Nice, Heard there was some beefy deer up that way. I got mine in Prince Edward County (Farmville). If you ever want some more land to hunt on, you can always roll with us. We have a little over 1600 acres, 7 stands, 2 blinds, 3 4wheelers, 9-10 deer feeders, we planted a 50 acre dear plot (sunflowers, peas, clovers, ect.) Keep the salt and mineral blocks out there. Log cabin that sleeps 10 people. If you want a different place to hunt, just hit me up.

Nice deer. I shot some birds that wouldn't quit walking all over the roof and making noise with my full-auto airsoft gun :D. Only killed like 3.
