Not as bas as the title would lead to believe, however, funny none the less.

So up here at school, we had a big blizzard, 1-2 feet of snow with 30-45mph winds all day leads to massive snow drifts. I am returning from campus about an hour ago, and there is a 2 foot drift in front of my spot. Since I switched into my all tires last week (because it was warm with no signs of winter returning) I decided it would be a little wiser to shovel the spot out.

So I shovel out an area about the same size as my car. However, because of the way I pulled in, I determined it would be a bit easier to back into my spot. The problem is I couldn't see out my back window, so I had to go with my side mirrors (and, this is at night, during a blizzard.) Needless to say, I miss the area by like 4 feet, and end up in a snow drift up to my rear tail lights. I try and drive forward, but no dice. Slightly hung up.

So here is where my brilliance shines. I decided it would be smart to just leave the car in first, and then get in the back and push it. Well it worked too well.

So it suddenly knock loose, gets traction and takes off, towards the corner of my 118 year old house. So I sprint to stop it. The car travels about 10 feet and just skims the side of the house. I run inside my car, and pull the ebrake, and stop it, as it runs into a 4 foot snow bank. I finally get into the driver's seat and put my car back into my spot. Now for the pics.

The snow bank were I was cought in

The path it took (pics taken about 45 minutes after the incident, so my tracks are kinda faint)

The car traveled along side of the house until the large snow drift at the end.

    And now the damage :(

The moral of course, make sure there is someone in the driver's seat if you have the car in first gear. Although I am kinda pissed at the damage, it could have been much worse, and it defiantly makes for a funny story

When I was in High School, I went outside to start the old Mazda 323. Not realizing it was in gear, I stuck my right foot in the car to push the clutch in, reached around and cranked it up, then stepped out of the car and off the clutch. The car lurched forward and demolished my dad's garage door. He was SO pissed :D
But yeah, looks like you lucked out with minimal damage.

Its been like 3 days of snow now, and there calling for about 2 more feet. I would have loved this at the begining of december but april? I was ready for it to be spring, About 3 weeks ago it warmed up into the high 60's melted all the snow, and all the ski hills closed, and I even pulled out my road bike and went for a bunch of nice rides. Now going to class, at times I am treking through 2 feet of snow.
