yeah, most of the servers we run are quad quad...i mean we host some hefty stuff...soooo
 
we;re just dual quad. no need for that much yet.
hell, there's only 2gb of ram in the machine.

if there's a bottle neck, its the raid5 15k sata's.


SAS drives are just too much money (over $150 more per month)
 
they are also crazy higher bandwidth if you get the right drives. seagate is the only company that makes 15k SAS drives that are worth the price. everyone elses are barely better than the 10k versions.

I like to eat those single serving Mott's cinnamon apple sauce cups before bed, but I never use a spoon, so while licking up the remains my goatee gets covered in apple sauce. It's kind of annoying, but well worth it.
 
OH! I used to have a Ventrilo server hosted by nrgservers and the owner once told me over AIM after a complaint "I'm tired of this, it's like some a**hole keeps tripping over the power chords..."
 
@B: you need a box to run an uptime script on? By uptime I mean something that checks to see if apache is responding, then emails you if it's not.
