I have a 94 Civic EX vtec coupe. Stock D Series engine. At time Random it seems the Speedo will stop working then pop up and settle in to working normally. This only happens in the winter. I never seem to have this problem during the summer. The Tach never stops working but if the speedo stops then the odometer stops as well.

As for the Tach there are random times usually after the initial start in the morning it will rev and bounce from 1000 to 2000 after a while it will settle in and run. I normally don't have any other issues with this it's a great running car with over 200K on it.

Will do thanks for the advise. I did forget to say that this problem has stayed even though I've swapped trannys.
 
if you need a vss there cheap. any d-series or b-series will work. i think i have a d-series in my GSR tranny right now
