My speedo jsut stopped working today and shortly after my check light went on. I have no loss in power and my cables are still hooked up. What could b wrong

the wire inside the speedo cable could have broken causing your speedo to stop working. this in turn causes the ecu to throw a code for failed vehicle speed sensor, which is located in the gauge cluster. and it is ran by the speedometer, so if your speedo stopped working then it will throw that code
