speedometer

So I am trying to do the electronics part of this swap by putting my '88 D16A6 harness onto the B16a. However the new transmission has a speed sensor on it and the D harness has no accomadation for it nor does the hasport sub-harness. So I have 2 questions, is this sensor critical, and how do I hook my mechanical speedometer. It looks like when I take it off I can put the speedometer cable into the hole under it to hook up my speedometer. help is appreciated. thanks

What year swap did you get?

You need to pull the sensor out of the transmission, where you speedo cable hooked into... thats the VSS, pull it out and put that into yout B16 trans.
