So the one on my B16a is junk. Is there anyway to troubleshoot it? The manual wasn't much help. If it is bad what USDM car do I order it for and does anyone know about how much it costs? It's completely retarded right now, one second it's trying to idle on the high cam, the next it changes back and idles somewhat normal. Then we can hear it clicking as it switches back and forth. It's running like total shit, but the solenoid valve is the only code it's spitting out.
 
i believe that any b series vtec soleniod will work
 
check the voltage, should be between 14-30 volts from the vtec solenoid wire and a ground with the key in the acc position. have you taken it off to see if maybe the screen in it is clogged, that's pretty common and can be cleaned by spraying it with brake cleaner.
