what is involved in fixing a spun main bearing??
is the head ever damaged when this happens?
there is a guy selling a y8 in the area for $130 with the head. Is this a good deal??
the crank will need replacing because chances are the crank is to far gone to be machined also you will need all the bottom end gaskets and a head gasket as well ass valve cover so basicaly you are rebuilding the notoe so go with the y8
no im saying the d16y8 that he is selling is the one with the spun main bearing, for 130 i get the whole block and head.

no the head is intact if he did not dirve it to far and fill the oil pump with shavings and run it till be burnt up the head. pop of the valve cover and take a look.
