Squealing rear brakes

Need some help people,

My rear drum brakes on my 92 civic are squealing when braking. I've checked the shoes and they're basicly new. The squealing happens at very low speeds, so basicly when the car is almost coming to a stop. Could it be that the brake shoes are no good? ie: the compound is old/bad causing the squealing?

Any suggestions would be great.

most likely need a rear drum cut or if u dont have access to a lathe rear drum replacement

put some anti squeal on them. Mine do the same thing, and my rotors and pads are only a month old.

drums are just noisy. Mine were perfect when I cahnged them to rear disc, but they always squealed. Part of the problem is that the dust has no where to go as it builds up inside, so your shit will get noisy. My full disc setup has been delightfully quiet.

I'm wondering now if it could be the proportioning valve which has failed. Perhaps the pressure to the rear brakes is too excessive at the low pedal pressure that I apply at low speeds, therefore they are squealing?? Does this make sense to anyone else?
