Only one question.. How much would you guys say it costs on average to build an engine from completely stock to be able to run a turbo with decent boost and rebuild the engine with the whole turbo set up too? And im not talking cheap crap.. i want the goods..

What Is With People Using CAPITAL Letters On The First Letter Of Every Word Lately??????

Yes its depends on what you want. You can spend a TONNE of money or do it cheaper. Like Blanco said, 3000 to 30000.

1st problem is your looking for the "good parts" like there's only 1 setup for whatever motor you're trying to build. There's a LOT of options when building a car and all have their pro's and con's. I recommend getting some books on engines/turbos and how they work. From there you'll be able to tell yourself what is the best option for what you want.

I like the way the 1200 dollar build sounds lol. I mean.. its not like ill be able to just say ya ima rebuild the whole thing and put the whole turbo setup on it at once.. i dont have that much money lol. What engine did you build for $1200?

D16Z6.....with a little insight from BLANCO. Same build would apply to your stock EX's engine. It wasn't a killer build. The head was stock except a little polishing and a three-angle valve job. I notched the block myself to accomidate the EAGLE H-beam's. For pistons I went with YCP 8.5-1's ( same as VITARA's ) w/ HASTINGS rings and bolted the head on with ARP head studs. A complete rebuil kit w/ new oil/water pump, bearings, head gasket, etc. ( everything but piston rings ) was installed to freshen up what was already there. I did everything myself except the head work.

I sold the motor to a guy up in NY. Last I heard it runs low 13's. Can't rember what BAR/psi though.....

But i thought you said... STOCK TO "holy shit" ?
a $1200 build is not a "holy shit" build, its more like an "no shit" build.

I was able to boost my ls last year with $1200 also. Piece of cake,.
    :D

Well ya eventually i want it to be boosted and shit but i cant just do it all at once as i said before. I would like to get it all ready for boost now so that way when i get the money to boost it i can just boost it and not have to worry about doing all the shit that i coulda done before when i had the money
