ok i got an update on the sound now when i take off in first it makes the strange chirpping sound even on low rpms now. also it does it in reverse without touching the clutch. So now i take off in first low rpms chirrping goes. but if i step on it in first no sound.
 
humm this is sounding rather intresting, anyway you could get a vid sound clip of this?? that be so helpful lol
 
even though your intake may not be damaged, more than likely it is still the problem. My intake does it, whoever put it on there paid .50c for in on ebay. I listen to the sound because its better than paying $250 for a fancy intake that will probably do the same thing. I do also get this loud chirp when i shift too tho, pretty sure thats just my tiarz. >.>
 
i've had an aem cold air since 2003 on my 00 si and i've never heard a single noise other than suction out of it
 
Ok just a thought but my old datona had an odd squeak or chirp that i just couldnt figure out. It ended up being a tranny mount. It did it when it shifted and even some bumps, with any engine movement too. Some lube took care of it. Im not sure how the Honda mounts go but its something to look into?
