Fry's has some amazing deals today that allow you to build your computer for almost nothing. Here are the parts and the deals. The minus in parenthesis indicate rebates and Ive never had any problems with Fry's concerning rebates. As long as you keep copies for records and follow instructions, the rebates should come. Anyway, here are the parts and only valid today.

AMD BE-2300 + ECS = $58.99
Cooler Master Hyper TX = $15.00 ($-15.00)
Crucial 1GB DDR2 667 = $24.99 ($-20.00) **Can get OCZ for $15 more and make it 2GB
Cooler Master Mystique 632S = $50 (-$50)
Antec Basiq 500Watt = $42 (-$35)
Evga 6200 256mb = $50 (-$50)

Total = $240.98
Rebates = $170.00

FINAL = $70.98

For the hard drive, optical and input devices, you may have these laying around with older computers you can use, if not, they have some deals too.

300GB Maxtor HDD = $49.99
Lite-On DVD = $29.99

Grand total = $150.96

If you dont have an OS, you can pick up a copy of XP or Vista for 50-100 and a 19+ LCD monitor starting at $100.

So all in all, you can have a Dual Core computer with 1GB of RAM, 300GB hard drive, DVD burner, 19" LCD and Windows Vista for roughly $350. I think thats a freaking steal.

Where can you get xp for 50 bucks? I need a new operating system and do not want to go to vista yet.
