I have the oppurtunity right now to purchase a 00 subaru awd RS, car was rolled like a million and half times, i know a guy who's taking the engine right away, but everything else is just up for grabs. Now i still have a 92 Civic HB, totally stripped, and have a partially built LS/Vtec on the side, im always looking for an interesting project and having an all wheel drive Civic, as always been an interest of mine I dont care if it'll make the car slower. There's a couple really awesome rally tracks around here, and last weeken we took my buddy's, buddy 01 subaru impreza out, i swear this guy,is a crackhead, how many of you's out there would let 3 of your buddy's, a 2-4 of molson canadian, and a half once of weed out on rally course when your locked in a 4 yr. lease, none of us have actual rally experience, it was fun as fuck but god damn is he stupid. Anywayz back to the topic, i am not worried about time and mechanical issues, i have some of the best mechanics around, and i probably would slap a turbo on it to compensate, but my question in the end do you guyz think this car would perform and how reliable would it be, keep in mind time and money is not a concern, is it worth it ??????????

you cant polish a turd. you'll have more money in that damn thing and more problems with it then youd care to deal with. although itd be a hell of a sleeper. you would have to do so much fabrication you wouldnt end up with anything resembling a hatch. take this infinate amount of money you have and buy an sti if you want awd, hell you could buy two or three of them for the cash it would cost to do everything.

Well, you wouldn't use subaru components for such a job. Most likely, and probably your best bet would be CRV componets. Because...

1) Your working with a chasis from a CRV which is more of a car than a truck.
2) You could use the B20 and Tranny from the CRV which is all wheel drive.

Now your going to need lots and lots of fabrication to fit a B20 and the tranny into a hatch. Lots of money also and when your done...

1) You will have crazy bragging rights.
2) An all wheel drive civic.

But how fast will it be?? Personally i dont think its worth it.

for the amount of cash it would take to do this, you could just go out and buy and STI...

If you have 30-40 gs to spend just buy a sti, if you want an awd civic, buy an 88? civic wagon. It's not worth the time money and reliablity issues ur gonna end up with for bragging rights

if the engine is gone, wtf are you possibly going to use to make the car AWD? the suspension? the logic behind this is totally wack

I had this same idea about my Escort a while back. Trust me. It won't work. You have to worry about wheelbase length, car width, engine placement, the proper suspension. Then you would have to move your gas tank, wigger-rig a shifter, splice every fucking wire you see under the hood, etc etc. Not worth it. Just go buy a WRX or 2.5 RS if you want AWD.

just so the record shows, I have seen with my own eyes a integra with AWD, it had the CRV system on it, it's really more like a 3 wheel drive with the open differential.

and the owner is a writer for honda tuning and personally meet him this weekend at a porsche event.

Not to jack this thread or anything, but JD, they are done with the integra?

Oh, and i agree, dont waste your $$ on that shit, jsut buy a real Subaru. Or yeah, do the CRV thing.

My buddy told me, we could use the honda engine, with custom mods, but he said it would be possible, so dont start saying dumb shit thei PISSEDOFFSOL, none of us have actually ever done this, my buddy's all reved up about doing this, labor wouldn't cost me much, except for everything custom that would have to go on the car, and again i dont even know how much work exactly it would take to put this together, i can get the whole car from the insurance company for $2200 canadian, and im selling the engine for $1000 beans, HONDA actually, made an all wheel drive integra, i think early 90's, all of you's who suscribe to honda tuning, im sure i seen that article like 6mths ago , thanx boyz
