super bowl ratings scam=never cool

by no means am i excited for this. i'm also debating on the conspiracy of the super bowl.

cards vs steelers? coach vs old team. ok

pats vs. giants? giants win, bullshit. didn't want to destroy the heritage of the dolphins. have you noticed the nfl supports the annual party every time the last team loses?

colts vs. bears? showcasing 2 black coaches after the rooney rule is started. hmmm....

seahawks vs. steelers? 3 refs from pittsburgh, in a game in detroit, "low block" on a tackle attempt, phantom td from roadburger...it goes on...

pats vs. eagles? this says it all....
According to Las Vegas oddsmakers, the Patriots were seven-point favorites entering the game. As the Patriots only won by 3 points, the Patriots failed to cover this spread.
The over-under bet was set at 46.0 by most casinos. As the total combined score of the two teams was 45 points, the under bet won.
The money line was set at roughly +245 for Philadelphia and −265 for New England.

thats why i try to stick to watching college football, but even that gets screwed sometimes.
**cough** bcs **cough**

As someone who does bet on football, both college and pro, I would tell you not to put too much on the point spreads/over under bets. You would be suprised how often its within a couple points either way. The oddsmakers are good at their jobs, and casinos/sportsbooks are not in business because they lose money.

The money line is simply a bet on who wins the game. +245 means that you would win $245 on a bet of $100. -265 means you would have to bet $265 to win $100. It simply reflects that you won't win as much betting on the favorite to win as you would the underdog.

I think the line for this game opened at Pittsburgh -6.5, and has grown to -7. So there's been more action put on Pittsburgh to cover, and the line has reflected that. Had the line stayed the same, basically you would have had as much money on Pitt and Arizona to cover the spread, and for every winner you would also have a loser. The same holds true for the over-under bets.

the NFL is the most sketchy TEAM sport....

boxing is the most rigged event of all time though.

im in it for the food and company, not the game

Couldn't agree more. I love football. Bet on it, watch it, I run my fantasy league, but the Super Bowl is just anti-climactic. It's the big build-up to nothing.

I don't think it's rigged in any regard.

I think the NBA is the worst. The refs have so much control of the game because calls are so subjective. At least in other sports they review the play if its close.

i'm not referring to just the refs. i'm referring to the league entirely. the refs, the matchups, the locations, everything.

and only some of the stuff can be reviewed. i'm still bitter about the seahawks in the super bowl. they got fucked on the jeremy stevens catch, the roadburger td, and the hasselbeck phantom penalty. the nfl doesn't want to see a small market win. thats a fact. just like the tampa bay devil rays. the mlb was pissed. they NEEDED the yankees in the world series. its'all about the $$$$

told you guys how it would turn out. same thing every year.

kurt warner pass, the phantom roadburger td AGAIN, harrison not getting ejected for throwing punches and kicking a guy on the ground, no steelers penalties in the first 20 minutes of the second half, they had 4 first downs by penalty, the mystery holding penalty in the defensive backs to hines ward.

the game was annoying. madden and gifford were sucking the steelers nuts from kickoff.
