well my friend was joking around with me and told me that i should supercharger and turbo my d16 civic. i was just wondering if that would work or would that just be a dumb thing to do. he said that it would work fine but just wondering if anyone else knows anything about that.

i kind of figured that in the first place, but it did sound kind of cool at first. o well i guess i'll just have to swap my b16 in it and just turbo it then.

i've only seen that done on the older toyota mr2's. they came factory with s/c and hks made a turbo kit for it to make it twin charged. pretty cool. it made like 360whp.

so no one thinks that it would be a good idea cause I think that it would make my car pretty quick if you think about it. you will pretty much have boost whenever you hit the gas and your going to have a lot of boost on the top end.

I'm not looking at running some insane amount of boost I was maybe thinking about running 6psi though both which together I would be at 12psi. you think that it would still mess with the turbo that much. plus you really wouldn't have any turbo lag at all cause that supercharger is going to be going right away. maybe I'm just not getting something cause to me it sounds like it would be one bad ass setup if done right.

if you wannan run 6PSI of boost, get a little Saab Turbo, don't try to Twin-Charge it, its a waste of time and money.

6psi of boost on both the chargers. that is more than enough to start out with. and im sure that i'll turn it all up once i start building the engine up a little more. and how do you know if its a waste of time. it seems like no one has done it before with a honda so how does everyone know that i wont work. and what if i doesn't work like i want it. its not going to be that hard to take one of the two off and just sell it. but the way i look at it its worth a try.

Anything north of 8PSI requires a Shit-ton of work, Lemme put it that way.

And you're right maybe your time and money isn't important to you like mine is.

for the kind of money to buy JUST a JR Supercharger and a decent turbo setup, *Not even starting on all the custom fabrication that would have to be involved or how much that would cost* you could have purchased pretty much any motor that can fit in your cars enginebay.

well since I already have a supercharger lined up for a few hundred bucks from my friend all I would need is a turbo kit that I can get real cheap cause I do it all the time for my friends anyways. all that leaves is me getting some management and a tune. so yeah I might spend around a grand and that's it. and there isn't going to be any custom work since its all going to bolt up anyways.

Do you have a 3Bar installed? Do you have new injectors? new Fuelpump, FPR? If the Supercharger isn't a JR one MEANT for your engine it will require custom fabrication, and if your SC and Turbo setup costs you less than a Grand I will bet big money right now, Something is going to fail VERY quickly if not immediatly. You can't cheap out on a project like that ESPECIALLY, You are going to blow up your motor, have fun.

I'm not bashing you cause you are doing something diffrent, Look at my Sig, I'm a big believer in my little D15B8 Stock block, but I am not throwing boost at this engine untill I replace my pistons and rods with custom slugs that will cost north of $400+ to handle the strain of boost, if your setup WORKS, You will Pitch a Rod or piston the first time you go WOT, You have ALOT more ahead of you than you realize is all I'm saying.

dude I work on cars all the time...building them and what not. most of the shit I need is just laying in my garage. so yeah I could easyily do this for under a grand. and I said earlier that I was planning on building it up. to be honest I will probably thorw the supercharger on build up the engine then throw the turbo on. but yeah I'm not trying to just throw it all in there and just boost the whole hell out of it cause I only have one spare engine and don't really feel like using it.
