I live in California and have heard many different things about swap laws, and I’m not really sure what's true. I have heard that the engine you swap has to be the same year or newer as the car its going into. if this is the case then what on the engine has to be same year or newer? the block? the head? the block and the head? I have also herd that it has to be the same type of motor like sohc engine into a sohc car(stock) and dohc into a dohc car(stock) If anyone could clear some of these up it would be much appreciated.

(admins: sorry, I don't really know if this would qualify under swaps or anything goes so feel free to move it)
