I recently purchased a new to me 02 civic si. I have been driving it now for a few weeks and have come to the realization that the motor in it is not meant for performance tuning. I have read that the d17a2 is engineered more for highway driveability. I was wondering if anybody else has some input on that. Also i was wondering what sorts of swaps are easily done outside of the k series. I realize that they are desirable and very easily dropped in, but im not afraid to do some slight modifications for a b-series or possibly even a d series due to the fact i cant afford the k-series motors. I was wondering what your guy's take on it is and if you have a suggestion of swap then if you could give some info as to what sorts of things are necessary to transfer over with it and what sorts of modifications are needed to be done as well.
P.s. The car i have is an 02 si but it isn't a hatch its the canadian released coupe edition of the si. i think its american equivalent is the ex model. But the engine bay dimensions are the same as the lx and dx coupe as far as i know.
thanks for any help.
