does anyone know of any places in ga that will do a good job on a swap. Im thinking of going with a b18c1 in a 97 civic, n/a until i save some money and go with boost, tell me what you think.

I can do it in my garage if you supply the parts and car  , but I'd bet you're up in Atlanta or Augusta (about 6 hrs from me).

I just finished the most Hellacious swap on the planet. A GSR motor in an OBD2 car would be much easier, not to mention 5spd.

Let's see, all the Hondas my wife and I have owned, in chronological order:
90 CivicLX auto sedan
90 AccordLX 5spd coupe
88 CrxSi
94 IntegraGSR 4dr
01 CivicLX 5spd sedan
89 CivicDX ZCswap 5spd sedan
93 CivicEX 5spd coupe (highlighted ones we still own)

So, we've owned 7 Hondas, in as many years. Not to mention the countless others I've worked on. DO NOT let an unexperienced shop mess up your swap or charge you a left testicle to do the work. I'm sure there're some reputable shops in Atlanta.

nice swap, hows it run, and what did it have before. how much do you think is to much for a swap? there asking about 1000.and 3200 for b18c and everything that goes with it

damn i cant find a front clip for less then 4000 here ..... in the area ...but online can find a b18c for 3200 but then shipping will get me ... so thats not bad .....1000 is about how much it will cost for labor usually ..unless u know someone.... but they all say get a manual and swap it yourself .... thats what im going to do ... but i have access to lifts, engine, hoists, and stands, and all tools, ect ... yeah and the other guy is right ... get a 96 to 99 b18c2 motor .... your car is obd2 and a obd1 mtor swap will be really hard so i have heard ...

I have never heard of a B18C2(maybe I'm wrong). I thought there were just OBD-1(94-95) & 2(96-01) versions of the B18C1. Anyway, look to pay 3500-4000 installed for a low-mileage GSR swap. Get an OBD-1 setup if you're going to boost and go Hondata later on. Of course, the USDM OBD1 GSR swaps (94-95) are gettin up there in mileage nowadays.

sorry typo ... but i was underthe impression 92-95 was obd1 and 96-99 was obd2 now im confused ....

could you do me a favor and explain what the "hondata" is ive heard people talk about it but no ones explained it to me.

My brother can do your swap at his shop where he works in suwanee. There an acura and honda specialist. He's done a done a few swaps plus a 5 speed conversion on 97 Prelude. He also works on his TT supra 94. Also were in the middle of swap for my 92 SI hatch w/gsr brake converiosn and power window/lock conversion. He does quality work at competitive price. As far obd1 you can buy a conversion harness for around 250 online.

There are other harness conversion out there you just have to do research online.

whats your bothers name, name of the shop, and the number, so i can get a price check on the swap. if some he checks up on being reliable then and gives a good price then ill go to him.

If you are near Augusta, I can do it. I have all the tools and stuff in my garage. If you are willing to help out the cost would be minimal.

His name is Sammy, the shop is called Blake Automotive Honda & Acura Specialist, the owner is John Blake real nice guy. The shop number is 678-714-0240 @ 80 Crestridge drive Suwanee GA 30024. Email me for my brother cell #.

How far are you from Athens...you are welcome to come by and see the shop.

Read all about it, and then decide whether it's worth the the $400 or more it will take to get you started with a setup, plus the dyno and tuning time at a shop. For FI(boosted) folks, it's almost always worth it.

And the swap you were asking about runs great(even for an automatic :p ). It used to have the stock D16Z6 in it, but that motor was sold and found it's new home in a 91 CRX Si in St. Augustine.

im in gwinnett, but where i can get best deal with the highest quality work is were im going.
