Oh and I have a friend on my Escort site who knows the backstage manager/bass guitar tuner for Metallica...he gets back stage passes to all their Midwest shows, He's giving me a laminated pass for the Fort wayne show so I can *POSSIBLY* get me and my two friends backstage.

Oh hell yeah :worthy: :worthy:

What fun is a metal concert with no moshing?!?!

The Saliva concert here kicked ASS. There was a 6'6" 350 pound guy in the middle of the pit that everyone was pushing around, using him as a battering ram for the other side of the crowd... It was fun as hell. ;)

:gives:

Your mama gave a fuck last night when I spilled my man juice all over her face.

Anyway, I'll be up in the Arena, so I can't mosh anyway. Having the ability to go backstage >>>>>> moshing.

Since the Coliseum is crazy small for this type of Venue, they're going to fill up the entire place and it's rumored they're going to be on a rotating stage in the center of the place. It's going to fuckin rock.

haha he deleted his post. Awesome...

looks like it,,,,,,,i was lost at first.......but ohwell :)

You're a fag. Shut up, they evolved, not sold out. Dumbass. Anyhow, I get to miss both the Key Arena and Spokane Arena shows. :(

metallica sold out.

How so? because they crusaded against illegal piracy? They only did it because their label only gave a fuck about the greenbacks. Get over it, their music is arguably the best ever created, and yes I'm even talking about St Anger.

I cannot wait for this concert.

St. Anger is an awesome album. My only qualm with it is that Kirk doesn't lay the smack down once at all! Oh well, at least the chug-a-chug sound is back. They are a legacy, our generation's Led Zeppelin.

Musical talent aside, they turned their backs on those responsible for their success, and that is the fans. What they did was shameless, and self serving, and they should be regaurded as traitors to the real music scene.

That said, I grew up on Creeping Death, Ride the lightning, I remember when Master of Puppets, debuted on the radio, and the trauma of Cliff Burtons death and the ridicule of Jason "Newkid", and being stoned out of my mind listening to him do Cliffs bass solo so damn loud you couldn't evne distingush the notes. But I didn't like where they headed, and, And Justice for All was the last album from them that I feel held any of what made them great. Sorry about the old guy reminiscing rant.

The people who stole their music made them a success? No, people that go to the store and buy their cd's instead of pirating them and burning them onto CDs are the ones that made them a success. Care to somehow rephrase that as it makes no sense at all.

My brother told me something a while ago that really turned me away from downloading music, and I haven't since.

He was really into Collective Soul, and on our way back from the store where he had just bought Dosage, (I believe it was the latest album at the time) I asked him why he didn't just download the music, he told me that he really enjoys the bands music and he wants to support them.

Any music that I like enough to possibly download, is good enough for me to go to the store and actually buy the damn cd.

When you buy a CD from a store, the band gets almost nothing from it, pennies on the dollor, if you want to really support them DL it and mail them $5, that's more than the label pays them for a CD. The fans of the music buy it, and DL it, I DL music, but at the same time, I buy it too. Just because someone wants to DL a couple songs instead of paying overpriced industry standard mark ups, doesn't make the band go broke. And more money is made from Merchandise and touring than CD sales, you can't bootleg or DL a concert. People have been coping artist products for decades, there have been bootleggers since the dawn of the recording industry. I have seen hundreds of Metallica bootlegs on the walls of record shops, shit my buddy has a Creeping Death boot, signed by the band.

There's no need to rephrase it at all, like I said fans make a band successful, even if one guy DL's every album, there is still his friend that he turned on to it that is going to buy it, If the band has a real fan base, and turns out a product, it will be bought. The record industy has been a scandelous lot since the beginning, period. They have never cared about the artist, only the bottom line. And it shows in every facet of censorship, parental warning labels, lawsuits, etc...anything it can do to make more money.

When I was in a band and putting out records, if someone made ten copies of our 7", and gave them to ten friends, you know what? That's ten more people possibly at the door of the show, paying for our gas, and buying records or a shirt when they get there. It's all about spreading the music.

in a way there...you did rephrase it. Good points, but pirating music still makes the band lose those pennies on the dollar, which is why Metallica really didn't care about people downloading the music, Lars said it himself. So don't blame the band for the chicken hold their label has on them.

Hook me up with a backstage pass to the Madison, WI show :D

they sold out WAYY before the whole Napster ordeal. they sold out when they made the video for "One" because they said they were never going to make music videos.

i agree with him. metallica sucked after "I Dissapear".

going to a metallica concert and not being allowed to mosh is like going to a porno shoot and not being allowed to masturbate. there's some things that you just can't go without doing.
