Damn...that just plain sucks, I heard about that crash too. Me and my brother in law (who just got back from Iraq) just shook our heads in disbelief.

E, from the bottom of my heart, I'm sorry man. :( :( :(

my condolences go out to you and the rest of your family Eric.

RIP: Sgt. Maj. Philip Robert Albert

God Bless you and your family during this time. I know it doesn't help much, but there's a special place in God's arms for all soldiers.

RIP

:worthy: To all those who make the ultimate sacrifice

It is conmendable that a man that could have retired elected to serve another tour in Afganistan. A shame I have lost a brother in arms oh such character. My prays and hopes to his family.

I searched for something that may help a bit:

[/B] The soldier stood and faced his God

Which must always come to pass

He hoped his boots were shining

Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, you soldier,

How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek?

To My Church have you been true?"

The soldier squared his shoulders and

said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't

Because those of us who carry guns

Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays

And at times my talk was tough,

And sometimes I've been violent,

Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny

That wasn't mine to keep...

Though I worked a lot of overtime

When the bills got just too steep,

And I never passed a cry for help,

Though at times I shook with fear,

And sometimes, God forgive me,

I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place

Among the people here,

They never wanted me around

Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord,

It needn't be so grand,

I never expected or had too much,

But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was a silence all around the throne

Where the saints had often trod

As the soldier waited quietly,

For the judgment of his God,

"Step forward now, you soldier,

You've borne your burdens well,

Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets,

You've done your time in Hell."

To all that serve ...

damn....

i got mad respect for anyone who risks (and gives) his life to make our country the great country it is.

mad props to e's uncle...

my prayers go out to you and your family, e

that sucks hardcore. i know what its like to have a family member overseas. my cousin ron died... he was a specialist in an infantry unit.

Hey E, i'm really sorry about your uncle, my uncle is over there fighting right now, i know how it feels to have family out there fighting. Stand strong man. :)

so sorry to hear that Eric. at least he's in a better place now. i just received news yesterday that my cousin in iraq came under attack by an iraqi mob. he and his gunner had to hold them off until reinforcements came. one of the attackers got up to their humvey and struck the gunner in the head with a large rock. my cousin had to shoot and kill the guy. he is just in his early twenties and before the war he was a state trooper. just bought a house. i am really pissed that the government is not handling affairs over there with more tact and manpower. my cousin is lucky to still be alive. this was about the same day another group of soldiers were savagely murdered by another mob in iraq. God help our guys over there.

I'm sorry for you loss, Eric.

It's both sad and honorable see someone die for something devoted their whole life to.

R.I.P. Philip Robert Albert.
