T3 or 14b?

Which would be better for higher horsepower a 14b (1991eclipse) or a t3 (1988 300zx)

it would be on a b18b1

is the t3 internally wastgated?
if so would it be possible to change from that?
would it be a matter of some how freezing the stock wastegate shut and install another on the manifold?

A T3 will make more power with the sacrafice of some boost lag. The 14B will come on soon and run out before the top end.

ehh, i don't know about that.... the zx turbo is dinky. i'd put money on the 14b making a little more power.

as for the wastegate, you can simply remove the actuator, and screw down a block off plate. tuener toys or turbo toys sells 'em i think

Rly, the 14B is soo tiny, I cant imagine it making a LOT of power.

I'm not too familiar with the Z's T3 either, I was more comparing to a off the shelf T3.

the 14b has an a/r of .48 what is the a/r of the t3?

i think its a .63, but i could be wrong.

either way, both turbos are dinky and both are in the same hp potential range.


IMO, use which one fits your manifold flange.
