my temp gauge on my 91 hatch moves from med hot to cold when its cold when it warms up it does it every once in a while i have a b18a any ideas why it does this???????

temp sensor is bad... damn the simple shit?!
Yup- most likely the temperature sensor. This happened to me in my CRX. It's located right under the distributor...

BTW FYI, if your thermostat was bad, it would prolly either stick shut, causing your car to over heat, or stick open causing it to run cold all the time, not both.

so i just need to change the sensor not the thermostat??

well fixed that problem by putting my intake on it was currently running w/a cone filter directly on the throttle but now when idleing it idles high then low continiously and this is only when at idle. any info would be appreciated
