tempermental start

k so i just got the 92 civc cx and sometimes it doesnt like to start.. it will crank for ever but not fire.. then the previous owener noticed the fuel pump wasnt clickin on when he turn the key so he riged up a swich stright from the batry to the pump to engauge it incase of a no start.. welll it does turn the pump on but still no start?? then i get anoyed come in chill out go out 2 hours later and she fires right up with np.... any ideas??? anything great help thanks guys!!

Kinda sounds like an ignition switch may be going out. I must admit, I've never heard of a manual fuel pump turn on. You may just need a new one. You need to check to see if you are getting the proper fuel pressure to the fuel rail. Is the fuel system an ECU stock?
