Thin Side Moldings On Civic CX?

I just got a set of thin side moldings in for my Civic CX, and my car does not have the holes to clip them in. I thought that they had double sided tape and they just stuck on but they don't. I work in a body shop and that's how they go on a Lexus and many other cars. So do I just cut the plastic off and use the tape? I'm getting EG6 fenders this week and I know they have the holes. But any help will do, thank you.
 
i would try to secure them down the right way. find a civic that has the moldings, and measure the lenghts of the holes. than drill them into your car and clip them into the door. they're too heavy to be secured by two sided tape. the cars that do have double sided tape usually have extremely light side moldings, ours are kinda heavy.
 
YAH do some measuring a drill them out! I paint cars and I personally dont like double sided tape for your only anhesion!
