So I saw an ad today for a 1995 gs-r for 4200.
I called the guy and got the following:
142,000 miles
sri intake
some kind of exhaust
cross-drilled rotors
coil-over kit
primered shogunbumper??? Is it nice? idk
stick shift(duh!
short shifter...I don't know about teh short y0.
Color is chameleon dark green to a very dark purple.
ac and all accesories work.
no stereo (I got one already)
ls wheels (bling 17s removed) thank God!!!

The car is supposed to be very well taken care of so I'll see tomorrow.

Do you guys think its worth it by what I've posted?
That's all I know about it. :shrug2:

seems cheap for everything thats been done..

i personally wouldnt buy a car thats been modified, because you know it's been driven hard..

Sounds like a hatchet job,a dno hte shogun bumper (just the front?) is the ghey.

From the price he's given the is either something majorily wrong with the car or he just doesnt know shit about cars, but I would definatly go take a look. If everything checks out then its a great deal.

142,000 miles  getting high

:werd: :withstupid:

How will I know if it's been beat on? IS the mileage really that bad?

I'll maybe go see it today, but I won't get my hopes up too high.
It better be immaculate, because I worked my ass off this summer for my money.

the milage is getting up there.. but look for obvious things.. oil leaks, or any kind of leak for that matter. look for any hack jobs on wiring, and anything that just doesnt look right. check the cv boots for rips, the undercarrige for bottoming out. there are a few more thi9ngs, but they are eluding my thought right now..

i dunno, my primered black civic screamed steal me also... :shrug2:

simple... pull a compression test...

if it blows 100 across the board then its trashed...
also look for large variations between cylinders as well...

I didn't even need to pop the hood to know the car was thrashed.
Primered stock hoodfit ok, but it was the ghey bumper that didn't fit at all.
Good points: Nice leather interior.

Bad points:
Bumper didn't fit
NO front turn signals :shrug2:
Too many fixed areas around the body (can we say collision?)
Cheap shifter
"Racing" steering wheel
Clock tachometer. even though Cluster had one
Missing side moldings
No stereo (which was something I could get over)

He wanted 4200 for a car that needed way to much work to be presentable. Fuck it I'm keeping my civic

And the guy was an asshole about the whole thing. I told him I would be there at a certain time and he said ok, but when I got there he was gone and told me to leave because the car has been a target for thieves lately. :wtf: I'm no thief I was going to pay?!
Keeping my 4200 for something else ;)

:werd: mine's had shit stolen out of it not once... but TWICE.

thank god i still have the CAR though. bastards... that's why i'll never make it look TOO nice... if it looks like shit, who wants it for parts??

lol, had my integra broken into, and they stole my junk kenwood deck, and about 100 cds, most of them christian music  ; but never mind the 350 dollar bass guitar in the hatch. Stupid idiots.

My GS-R has 210K miles on her and the engine's compression is an even 210 across the board. :) You just have to make sure that a "high" mileage Honda was only owned by adults, and not some stupid kid beating on the poor thing. I see plenty of nice EG hatches and GS-R's driven by adults.

I missed a 95 white GS-R coupe w/150K miles on it for $2500 in Massachusetts while I was in Florida. That's the second coupe I've missed for that kind of money and mileage. *big sigh*
