Thread repair kits ?

I had never trusted those thread coil repair kits before, and I used one once and it was a sham.

Now, my exhaust manifold completely fell off my 4Runner, and I need to get these bolts back in. So I need to buy 12 of the f*ckers and go to work.


Anyone got any tips? Preferred brands ?

are you talking about heli coils ?? if so i've never had a problem they work great.

i use a drop of jb weld on the end of them

The guys in my old machine shop were willing to trust $50k pieces of equipment to helicoils, so I think they'll work fine for you.
