Alright guys, some of you might have seen my thread about loosing another good CRX, and so i must go car shopping. I have decided on gettin an Eg, something clean stock/semi stock that i can potentially build on.. Im just hoping for some honest opinions because im not sure if these cars are worth the price... 94 hatch-$5000 5 speed. 120k on body, 50k on motor. b16 swap. Koni shocks with Ground Control coilovers. skunk 2 rear lca. ASR sway bar. Momo steering wheel. buddy club wheels. carbon fiber wing. new paint. ( NO RUST) alarm. 93 hatch- $3800 few chips and scratches in paint and small rust near wheel wells. 9/10 interior, no burn holes. Mugen rep. front lip Amber corners Rota Track R's Adj. coils, not extremely bouncy Exhaust, sounds good d16 v swap w/ intake, headers, manifold etc. Runs healthy Stage 3 clutch 92 hatch- $2200 inspected charcoal grey SOHC vtec The interior is super clean except for a tear in the drivers seat, There is almost no rust except for the small amount on the right quarter where the body was scrapped but its only surface. Ill add more to my list as i can find "cheaper" clean/stockish Eg hatches. NOTE: I dont really have a prices range, i can handle most reasonable prices, but im looking for honest opinion on if these sound worth the asking price. Thanks guys!
All three are nice looking hatches it just depends how much you want to spend. Me personally would get the third one just because its cheaper on price, But I do like the first one for the way it looks and the color.. And damn all three are clean as hell you couldn't find one around here without rust or chopped up..
lol @ the prices. not a chance i would fork out that much for an old ass honda. the last one was the only one decently priced, and even then, i would only offer 1500. no more than that.
I agree and disagree with this at the same time. Kelley Blue Book is right where you're at but the desire for these cars is not put into context (in terms of pricing). I have an Si and I bought it for a pretty penny back in '96 ($9,500) I know I have dumped way too much money into it and will never get it back but would like to think its worth more than Kelley Blue Book says. But my hatch is pretty clean. No rust and decent paint (chips on the hood) I love it and want to keep it. That being said, I would not take under $4,500 for it and could make more (maybe) by parting it out. Shit....my ECU is worth $325+ in CA. And I still get AT LEAST 2 people a year who pull me over or leave a note on my car wanting me to sell it. Most Hatches are beat up....patched together and monsters of their previous existence. OP buy one that you think has the cleanest body and black dash/door panels. You can get new seats from a shit load of cars for cheap....Si is nice but if you find a clean one that isn't an Si.....this give you wiggle room on price b/c its not he sought after trim.
new paint = patch panels betcha sooner or later its gonna rust upgrade to the ek chassis, or get one with rust and just drive it save your money up for a house or a real car, or school
Thanks for the opinions guys, im gonna talk to the owners and see if i can get any of them to work with me on a price, ill post up some more Eg's if i find them. Id rather be safe then sorry, knowing im not over paying for these hatchs. Side note: If anyone has seen or heard of anyone selling a clean/stockish Eg around them, let me know. Id love some help looking for some of those cars that dont make it to an online ad >.<
Found another! I know this was too ridiculous of a price, but what do you think its worth? 93 Si hatch $6500, unless bought in ten days itll be $ 5000 Security is there, but will only be discussed with the next owner.
