OK, as most of you all know I had a 1990 Acura Integra GS that I "sold" to this girl I know. She verbally agreed to paying me every week the amount of $100 until it gets paid off. The first payment was made on July 7, 2003 in the amount of $50 and was promised more would come. Second payment of $40 was made on August 31, 2003 and the third payment was made September 18, 2003 in the amount of $50 for a grand total of $140 of the $800 she agreed to buy it for. I have called her a few times and was told each time that she didn't have any money to give me at that time through out the 3.5 months of "having" the car. She has the car in her possession but doesn't have the title which is still in my posession and here at my house. I am tired of waiting for her to bring me money when she "has it" and I need the money really bad right now. Should I tell her to give me money NOW (shes supposed to verey Friday btw) or should I just repo the car? What should I do? Thanks all!!

edit: whatever is the winner... i will take care of this situation Friday

tell the police you're repoing it so if she reports it stolen, they will already know.. and then sell it somewhere else.

Give her a little more time, sometimes people get into trouble and need money for unexpected things that come up. I'd say another 3-4 weeks, if not by then, take that shit back.

Demand it now, and if she dont, take it back and put it back up for sale again, and keep the money she gave you. Its fucking 800 bucks, someone will give you that much straight up for it.

B...I wanna say give her another chance, BUT if you do decide to repo it...I'll buy it for 200 bucks.

dammit y'all vote!! LOL. she did agree tho if i repo it, she ISN'T getting her money back at all. she CANNOT sell it as I still have the title in my possession. it's also been 3.5 months, i have been nice enough to her for going this long in only paying $140 of the $800 for it and frankly i am getting a little pissed off about it. i either want the money or the car back and i REALLY don't want to keep the car once i get it back. come on y'all help me out here!!

Forget her 3.5 months and $140, you shoulda been paid by now, take it back, no need to call the police it's your car, your title, your registraion?insurance? Keep the money if you didn't give reciepts or you can get sued for more. Where you at, I might wanna take up your offer.

car aint driveable so its sitting at her apt complex right now. i gave her receipts but like i said she did agree that if i repo it that she isng getting a dime back. i am located in Indiana and if you are interested, lemme know as i am gonna sell it really cheap if i take it back. i got pics somewhere on my pc so if you (or anyone else for that matter) wants to see what it looks like because i will post em up

I'd rather he get his money instead of the repo...He's $75 away from having an Escort in his driveway...again. B)

take it back and keep her money. just don't tell her a day when you are going to do it she might try to fuck the car up the day before.

Personally, I'd borrow a truck and tow that shiznit back to my house, like, yesterday. You've got the title, after all.

i dont have a license at the moment, hence whuy i was selling the car to get the $$ to get it back. BUT i do know people with trucks that are willing to help me out to get it.

The big question is, is it all in writing?

If she doesnt' respond friday, I say take it back and leave a note saying YOU OWE ME XXX Amount for my time wasted with you. Good Day.

She's just taking advantage of your kindness. Fuck her in the ear...then take the car back. We just had to repo one of my "lady friend's" neon the other day. The longer she keeps it, the worse the car will get.

I say Repo that sucker. Khrisb's is right, she is just taking advantage of you. Do you think a bank would be like "it's okay, no rush on the money"?...Nope. I think the only reason why she's not paying you is because it isnt running so she doesn't want to waste money on something she can't use (trust me, most girls think this way). If you have any documentation, then I wouldn't even tell her you were taking it, i'd just show up. I could see if it was like $200 short or something but dude $140 isnt even 20% paid. Go get that car.

repo it BUT

report your intended actions to the police BEFORE you go about doing it.

dont give exact details per se...

but present them your id, let them know approximately where the car is, and that you will be taking it back.

that way shit wont go the wrong way.

BUT make sure you have all paperwork on her payments towards you in case legal action should arise from you repo-ing the car.

mistake #1 - trusting a woman
mistake #2 - making a verbal agreement instead of a written, signed one
mistake #3 - allowing someone to make payments on it when up front they obviously didn't have the cash.

action #1 - call friend with truck/trailer.
action #2 - load car onto trailer in broad daylight. hell, tell one of her neighbors what you are doing, and have the title handy to show them.
action #3 - leave her a message saying due to failure to pay, you have taken the car back
