to sleeve or not to sleeve

    hey guys i am new to this site, but have a general question... i am building a ls/vtec motor and ran into a situation

    the engine that i bought for 150 bucks, has a froze #1 piston

    now i know that i am going to have to bore the motor, so here is one of my questions

    do i bore to say 84-84.5mm (1.8l to 2.0l) and use a block gaurd
    or do i get the block sleeved?

    also is anyone using a msd sci igniton? i am curious to the ignition as well due to the fact that i have researched and seen a "constant voltage supply" box which keeps voltage to the ign. box around 17v at all times. is that needed?

    if you want to bore to 84mm (or anything over 82mm, and even 82 is pushing the limits of safety) you HAVE to get is sleeved. no question about it, the sleeves just arent strong enough.

    ok so i need to get it sleeved... any rec's on that?
    or should i buy a jdm ITR motor?
    i would think that it would roughly be the same horsepower (200HP according to hmotorsonline) as what my goals were for a lsvtec build
