Todays Lame Theory: Homosexuality

incest was also widespread in early days of egypt all the way through the middle ages in royal lines. it was deemed acceptible by society.

Today, we will instantly drop inbred insults, and in fact, it's illegal to marry anyone closer than 2nd cousin IIRC.

Is the incest movement next? :X
After incest; bestiality?

I have no problem with it. You do you.

My problem lies with trying to force ideals on people. Mostly religion, but sometimes even homosexuality. I use to work with a guy that would hit on me every day and get in my personal space. I told him he made me uncomfortable and threatened to kick his ass multiple times, and he played the hate crime card. Finally a manager happened to see one of these exchanges and threatened to fire him.

Another time, I punched a gay guy at the bar. I was standing around, minding my own business, and this drunk ass guy kept dancing up on me. His friends thought it was hilarious. I finally had enough. But I didn't do it because he was gay, I did it because he was unwelcome. If he did the same thing to a girl and got slapped/punched, I would think he deserved it too.

I treat people like people. No different if you're gay, straight, black, or white. There are nice people and assholes in every crowd.

i have no issues with gays at all. i actually enjoy the company of the ones i have had the chance to be friends with.
but, i guess i have gotten lucky with the ones i know, i would tell them straight away that i wasnt gay and never will be. they respected it and it was never an issue.

it is. thanks to mtv, the real world, puck, and all the gay marriage stuff on the news, most people just don't give a shit any more.

hell, it's COOL to be metro. look at seacrest.

puck isnt gay. he has like 5 kids and lives on potrero hill.

It is a choice.... just like eating or not is a choice. You can ignore it all you want, but that hunger never goes away............

until you're satisified on a cock-meat sandwhich :)

I have a few gay friends. Most of them have "just always known" that they were gay, from before they could remember. It's not a choice any more than being born with downsyndrome is a choice.

No body wakes up in the morning one day and says, "Damn, I think i want to suck cock and take it in the ass from now on".

Failure to recognize this is simply ignorance.

You don't need to have an opinion on it.

Several Studies have shown that sexual preference is governed by the development of certain parts of the brain. If it develops one way you are straight, if it develops another way you are gay, somewhere in between? You guessed it, Bi.

To still believe homosexuality is a choice you have to blindfold yourself to the last 20 years of physiological and biological research on the subject. Homosexuality occurs in many species and the rates of homosexuality as a portion of the population appear to remain static over generations. Changes in how people define themselves come from the social acceptability of the practice rather then the actual population makeup itself.

Basically homosexuality is "epigenetic," meaning that it depends on a combination of environment and genetics. This is nothing new as the field of epigenetics is revealing that a lot of things that happen to our bodies, both developmental and disorder, are the product of a "nature/nurture" mash up.

I have a nephew who is gay. He was on the feminine side even as a child. It's not a choice.

OK, and for your viewing pleasure, a breakdown of states where marriage between first cousins is allowed (as mentioned earlier in the thread):

cousinmap.jpg

California not only subscribes to failed socialistic economic policy but also allows marriage between first cousins?

Wow, not only does that State fail for bad liberal ideas it also manages to fail for ideas which usually belong to overly rural and conservative areas. California is the Voltron of fucked up states, it hooks up all the worst ideas into one giant failbot of a catastrophe.

if that theory were true then75% of china would be gay since there's a CLEAR lack of female vs males thx to their one child policy

Not to mentions his "theory" is actually a hypothesis. Theories come at the conclusion of much scientific testing and empirical analysis.

I don't think it has anything to do with population levels.

you fail at science threadmaker
fuck you too :D

my line of work is about the furthest you can get from being a scientist

So now you consider sexual preference to belong to the realm of philosophy?

Keep dancing, I can do this all day

I thought your first idea, that the earth spawns homosexuality to protect herself from overpopulation, in what appears to be some kind of Richard Simmons inspired remake of Avatar, was the better work of fiction. Homosexuality as a product of philosophy is just strange

To suck or not to suck, that is the question?
