tranny help?

So heres the thing, i just put a lsd into my y1 case, but were missing the clip picutred below.

its that clip that wraps around the bearing inside of the case on the ( input shaft?)

my questions is, what does this clip do? and would it be bad if it wasnt there? i ask this because honda puts shit in there for a reason and the tranny isnt in the car, so it isnt extremely hard to just reopen the case and put it in. . . .umm some input would be awesome. . . thanks

Put it in...Honda wouldn't put an un-necessary part in a trans if it weren't needed.
