Tranny Swap

My buddy has an 86 Honda CRX. The tranny went out on him and we have to change it out. Does anybody know where I might find one of these ancient trannies and is it tough to change out a tranny ? I just replaced the head on my d16y8 and that was pretty easy. Just curious. Thanks

Manual Trannys unlike engines are not OBD specific so I would guess that any cable D-series tranny should work in there, but you'd better double check that. As far as finding a tranny, it shouldn't be to hard, any engine dealer or junkyard should have them, call around.

The easiest way to change a tranny is to drop it out of the bottom of the car so you'll need to lift the car up.
