transmission is making a grinding noise around 3grand when warm on my 94 civic

my manual tranny is making a grinding noise around 3 grand when the car is warmed up.it was doing it when i bought the car and i changed the gear opil in it and it stopped for about a day.it doesnt have a leak im just wondering what it could be.any suggestions?

try adding some type of syntheic lubracant that reduces gearbox noise, ie Lucas or royal purple products

i went with 80w 90 in it do you think i could go with something thicker?also when i downshift into first before i even let the clutch out you can hear it whining.could this also be due to the gear oil?it drives and pulls fine without any slipping but i would really like to stop the noise.
