I have a B16A engine and S1 transmission swaped into my 90 CRX. I race the car on the track (not drag strip) and the current S1 transmission is having what I assume are syncro issues getting into 3rd gear. It won't shift easily into 3rd when the revs are high. I have a L3 transmission from a CRX SI car/engine. I know the ratios are wider in the L3 transmission, but are they wider enough to cause a negative effect in my racing of the car? Additionally will the L3 transmission fit on the B16A engine? If so what clutch/flywheel specs do I need, spline number / flywheel diameter. Or should I just have the S1 transmission rebuilt, if so what should that cost?
