transmission troubles in 95 accord

i have a 95 accord wagon with a v-tec and auto transmission it has 230,000 miles, recently it started to overheat and today the trans started slipping, the speedometer went nuts and the check engine light came on. should i replace the transmission or should i find a new car? any opinions?
