well, let's see

Clinton was useless. The economy was good because of tech /.com boom, not because of what clinton did (or didn't) do.

- he sold top secret military plans, icbm missle guidance systems, including nuclear items to iran. china, north korea, and other 'allies'. Look what happened there.
- USS Cole "hey guys, please don't sink our ships anymore. thanks"
- He pardoned convicted drug dealers and child porn and other molesters on his LAST DAY in office. Bill Clinton pardon controversy - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
- Allowed NAFTA, making it legal to ship jobs to china
- He let Bin laden go
- He did nothing after the first WTC bombing
- the whole Bosnia dibacle (watch blackhawk down recently?)
- and i don't know if i believe all of this, but it's an interesting read. BILL CLINTON IS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR 911.

Trump can't get a security clearance... He tried a while ago, and was denied.

You really want someone like that running our country? OPM said he's not trustworthy...

I whole heartedly disagree with B.

Raise taxes. There goes deficit.

lol

raise taxes, and there goes 10% of all jobs. 20% unemployment.

man, haven't any of you played sim city?

There is your economics for ya. I disagree with that point of view.

Taxes are too low. There are too many companies with incredible cash positions not spending a dime.

It's not the rates that are the problems. It's the entire IRS and the loopholes within.

Abolish it, tax everyone/everything/every business at 10%.

rich pay more, poor pay less.
hookers, waiters, drug dealers and business finally contribute via sales tax/flat tax.

money galore.

problems solved.

and the socialists call it regressive so it will never pass
:bash:

I wish we could tax hookers, drug dealers, and people doing cash work for people under the table. Technically by law they are supposed to be paying taxes on illegal activities. When people get arrested for this stuff they should get tax evasion and have to pay back taxes. Likeliness we will get the money from the low end people is low.

ha, they raise taxes, they'll just increase spending.

This is the primary problem. Republicans are supposed to give concessions on increasing taxes for XYZ group but the moment Republicans say something about out of control spending they get their face ripped off. Outcome the accusations of old people dying, children starving and now it seems doctors performing medical procedures that are unnecessary so they can buy another four homes and two more trophy wives.

This is not to say that Republicans have a super solid track record of conservative spending but more than a few freshman congress people are trying to move us in that direction. How many of us live our day to day lives adding more and more debt? Well how many of us think that is a great idea? If it does not work for us how can it work for the government? Passing the healthcare bill over a budget for this fiscal year was just irresponsible. I am not an expert on heath care but I do know there needs to be some reform but creating a slush fund for the DoH is not the type of reform needed. We simply do not have the money to implement a 940 billion dollar social program.

You can

it's called sales tax. All of those people still buy stuff, at least some of the time.

Take away 'withholding and filing' and charge everyone who buys something a tax. problem solved.

Still doesn't stop under the table work, sale of stolen goods, etc. In CT services are considered sales taxable. There would still be under ground stuff. I paint your house under the table. You pay a sales tax on the paint and any supplies needed. You pay me under the table to paint, no sales tax on the job. You find someone who is honest and pays taxes. He charges you say 25% more because he is actually paying taxes.
There is no winning and it sucks.

But them the states would wield actual power (as they should) because they would handle most of the money at first. With an overreaching Federal government they'd never want to lose their direct funding. :(

Whatever happened to states rights? A helluva lot of our problems would go away or get fixed in a reasonable manner if we didn't have the fed knee deep in every states ass.

Absolutely, there would be under the table dealings.

Smart consumers won't buy under-the-table because if the work/etc comes out like crap, they'll have no legal recourse (as no 'job' ever existed on paper).

But, there are now too. Look at criagslist!

It' exists now. I can hire a tree guy, or carpenter, etc for $1000 to do something for me on the books who is insured, licensed, etc, or i can find someone hwo will do it under the table and I assume all risks if it goes wrong or someone gets hurt for $500.

It will fix it self and still make money.

State tax, 6%, fed tax, 4%.
it will all go direct from the person/store withholding said tax monies. The state will never see the fed, the fed will never see the state.

idiots keep voting in socialists who want big government and nannys.

The dumbest thing the U.S. could do right now is create an AVT. Taxing expensive shit even more. Holy fuck i would lose my mind if cars, tvs, etc, had an extra tax just because "i can afford it".

Politicians say, "it works in europe". Well dipshit, Europe doesn't have 50 states governing themselves with their own taxes. The countries in Europe don't share taxes. They would sing a different song if they had to pay a "Spain Tax" and a "Europe Tax". dsl;kfja;sdlkfja;sdldfjka;sdlkfj

yeah, but would you want to pay 50% income tax?

the healthcare isn't free, you pay for it in taxes...

Don't think sales tax isn't high there either, Germany is 22%, Belgium is 24%.

plus VAT.

Looks like if i start a business, i'm going to to do so in ireland.

english speaking, and low corporate taxes :D
