Turbo BB4 Question.

Originally planned a auto>manual trans swap on my h23 lude.

After some thought I decided to buy another lude with a 5sp trans.

My question is: How does VTEC affect a turbo setup?

It allows you more flow up top, and takes slightly more skill to tune.

No. VTEC allows more flow in the upper rev ranges- VTEC effectively gives you two different camshaft profiles to play with. Generally, you'll have more power on a streetable VTEC engine than you would without- but depending on your boost goals and budget, it's often easier to build a turbo car without VTEC and still make the same amount of power as a VTEC car with less cash.

Nope, VTEC won't work against the turbo. You just have to spend more effort (not much really) tuning it, that's all.

No reason to lock or delete this thread.
