i have 1994 civic cx hatchback and wanted to do a d series swap probably a d16z6 with a si transmission and wanted to also turbo the motor. Would it make sense to build that motor or are they good for forced induction. Also what kind of times am i looking at if i do this. Not too sure what kind of turbo or anything like that comments and suggestions are accepted.
    thanks ahead of time
    Jeff

well it depends on your power goals, but the stock d series should be good to 200hp or 7500 rpm witch ever comes first. and i like the t28 turbo myself

so i could run the stock d16z6 and run it up to 200 and thats plenty of power for a civic right

a p28 that it from a d16z6 and get it chipped and tuned. much better than running a fmu or something like that.

yeah run the p28 and have it dyno tuned and you will be good, and 200 hp in a small civic is faster than what most ppl think

yeah it really is alot faster than most think. i have 270-290whp in my prelude and that is really fucking fast..... i dont know what i am going to do when i hit my 450whp goal........ but i think that 200-300whp is plenty enough power.......i know thats a 100whp gap. but never the less thats fast for any little car!

I ran a nissan garret T25 on my d15z1 (economy vtec). Instant full boost as soon as the car was under load. It beat S2000s up to about 90mph. That was with the econo trans too that hit 90 in 2nd gear. S2000 was stock except for cat delete.

But I agree wit everyone above. You have a quick honda when you're touching 150-250.

My butt said that my d15z1 had about 120whp and it was Waaaayyyy fun :)

yeah, if you get 200 out of a civic, that's about 11.5:1 weight to power ratio. your average muscle car has 17.5 and up, so you would have a pretty quick little car. but remember it doesn't hurt to upgrade your suspension while you're turboing it.

its ok i got the suspension taken care of
as far as the motor thing goes i think i am going to put rods and pistons in it then turbo charge it and have a fun little hatch hopefully haha
but i am reading up on stuff and it makes more sense to do the t3/t4 turbo and some better injectors so let me hear what you guys think of that plan thanks ahead of time

depending on the miles that are on the engine and how much boost you plan on pushing, that should tell you if you need to replace the robs and pistons, but of course it never hurts to replace them. same goes for injectors, because if you're only going to push say 7psi, you don't have to get bigger injectors, but same thing..it doesn't hurt to get them.

oh, I thought that unless you were pushing any more then say 7 psi you don't need to upgrade your fuel system

Your car is a little heavier then a Civic though, so it's not exactly apples to apples...
