turbo's the only way to go, but i wouldn't trust dseries rods past 220hp unless you built the motor to handle power. the cheapest kit is going to run you at least 1500 but thats like a bare bones kit ( no intercooler, no fuel management, no injectors etc) your probably going to spend like 2500 for everything, unless you build a junkyard kit...

220hp is still good for a low 13 second pass, if not faster on a good setup. Anything over that can be overkill unless you have slicks on the front in my opinion.

My friend runs 13.3 with a 240hp Colbalt SS which is a good 600-700lbs heavier than the civic, good driver, and a good setup can run good numbers, 500hp won't get you into the 12's even if you cant drive!

Ya you can get 250 out of it but I personally wouldn't trust the d16 rods past 220whp to be safe. Even a 200whp car is a pretty fast street car. Its no back to the future delorian or anything but pretty quick for a dd. I had a turbo D16Z6 with a 50 trim T3 pushing 10psi and I got dirty first and second gears out of her. I wouldn't think that I had more than 200whp.

I don't have a junkyard setup and i've only spent about 1500 peicing it together, thats including upgraded stuff. You can get a good turbo kit if you piece it together and dos ome research...turbod16.com is a good site for research.
