My monster system (circa 1999):

P3-650 @ 910mhz (Yes that's technically a monster overclock... 6.5x multiplier 100mhz bus running at 140mhz with no problems... It's a 133mhz chip marked down at the factory to 100mhz, so it's really only a 44mhz overclock)

384MB PC133 RAM

20GB Hard drive

Geforce 256 32MB DDR video card

Not much, but it runs Natural Selection just fine, and has just enough grunt to play UT2K4 acceptably with the options turned down, so I'm happy for at least a few more months. :)

why didnt you use PC3200 ram? am i missing something here?

PC2700 = DDR333

PC3200 = DDR400

you're runnin a P4 with a 800fsb which means the motherboard should use DDR400

:hmm:

haha, my buddy molded a 5.4in monitor into his LianLi case and ran that as a second monitor, so when he was playin games online his playlist was displayed right on the front of his case.

(Bender voice) Ohhhhh myyyyy god.

i just got a new computer too actually
dell 4600 off ebay, 613 shipped
P4 2.8 ghz 800 mhz fsb,
256(will be 512 after i get it) 800 mhz PC3200 RAM
40 GB ATA133
ATI 128 mb 9800 pro
cd/rw and a dvd
stuff from old computer: old CRT monitor, dvd-rw, sound card, random crap

--You didn't say which motherboard you got mirage. And pc 2700 can be run with motherboards that support it. My asus has a p4 2.8 ht and I can run 2700 if I choose to, but I'm running 512 mb of 3200 ram though(dual channel of course).
-- I put my system together for 690.00 and it is vastly superior to those dell/ compaq/ hp systems that go for 1500 without monitoror shipping.
--You got a good deal silver, but you should also get a second hd so your os can run at nice speed with the ata, while you store all your porn, I mean media in a different drive ;)

PII MMX 450 underclocked to 400 to avoid overheats.
512 megs of ram installed, ECC bios is screwing up, taking me to 392 megs.
ATA100
SCSI2 UW/UF 3 gig / 8.4 gig / 8.4 gig drives
GF4 card that doesn't hardware accelerate because of MMX

As you can see, you all > me

-> Steve

pentium4 3.0GHZ with HT not to shabby...
640mb PC2700 DDR RAM "as someone else said... WhyTF did you go with 2700?
120gb ATA133 HDD does this have a 8 meg buffer?
Sound Blaster Live! Digital Card "crap as with anything creative once again its crap"
K-World TV Tuner and Composite/S-Video Recorder
nVidia GeForce4 Ti4100 128mb DDR Graphics

just remember zipties are your friend so clean up that case!

Why would I run 2700 with my 2.8??? I've never heard of this before. So running 3200 isn't good or what? I would like to know.

Nah, try running a Celeron 600 @ 900 by clipping pins on the underside of the chip. That's what's running in my TV computer right now.

:lmao:

9x66 @ 100 bus- that's a full 50% overclock, and I rewired the CPU package to run the higher voltage required on any motherboard that's it's plugged in to. Fun fun fun!
