Yep they have a small washer/spacer under them. It was cool taking apart a Vtec head. I have never seen how it all works, but knew how it works. So are these better than the stock B16 lma? The rest of the head looks stock. The intake valves are dual stock right?
Oh and CARFROG get Hondata S100 and get it tuned. I gained 15.6hp and 10.6ftlbs from tuning a stock B18b with IHE. I would stop messing with the air and idle screws. This is controlled by the ECU, your weird idle is from the big cams with not tuning.

B16 does have dual intake springs but does not have dual exhaust springs

What color is the paint the springs? Should be faint but still visible if they're OEM

I would need to look again dont remember, but there was paint on them. The head is at my shop and Im off for the holiday. I will look next time. Would it be an upgrade to get Type R intake springs and put the b16 intakes on the exhaust? Could I run stage 2 cams with this setup? I cant find any good info with pics on the LMA. I am trying to see if someone has upgraded this head at all. Does anyone know of any good info on LMA upgrades and general info like what heads and what years came with what LMA???
You need to get that tune man. It will make a huge difference. I have my B18b1 with IHE tuned on Hondata. Made 15.6hp and 10.6ftlbs to the wheels after the tune. With the cams you will makes some good power.

LMA options are the new spring style or the Type R hydraulic type. I went with the new exposed spring style b/c they are known to handle the higher lift and fast rev's in comparison to stock and they are much cheaper in comparison to the type R versions.

I have not heard of B16 intake springs on the exhaust side but have read about GSR intake springs on the exhaust side with type R intake springs on the intake.

I bought all ITR springs (inner/outter) for exhaust and intake. And new LMA's. The spring style and type R are the only ones available (from my best knowledge)

Check out hondapartsunlimited.com for new OEM parts. Thats where I bought all mine.

No need for any of this unless you plan on rev'ing past stock rev limiter. No matter what camshafts. Now the LMA's may get worn out from a higher lift but springs should be fine for 8K rev'ing

Stage 2 cams need to have upgraded valve springs even if you only rev to 8k. Stage 1 and Type R cams work fine with stock valve springs.

Yep. The high lift of cams bigger than stage one or type r open the valves so much that the valves need to close faster to prevent from floating. Stronger springs close the valves faster. Ok so my intake valve springs have blue paint on them, stock B16 I think. My LMA is H22 for sure, I like that.
How do you like those Type R cams?? The guy I got the head from is selling a ITR valve springs, retainers and cams. Must be nice having 2 B18C5s.

I have all this crap with the axle change in my car.....effing driving me nuts. Crappy part is I found a dyno tuner pretty close to me and was about to (in the next month) get my car tuned on a socketed ECU with my cam gears tweaked too! But now I think I gotta take my car to a transmission specialist to fix my car's vibration.
