type r swap

i got a type r swap in my ep3. my knock sensor broke and the usdm wont work ( the length and threads are different) does anyone know how to ground the knock sensor.. i don't have the $$$ to take it to my tuner. and yes i have a kpro. please help im sick of looking at a check engine light...

I broke my JDM (OBD1 B16A) one and got another USDM replacement....no problem in the fitment or look. I grounded it to the thermo housing spot and ran the other wire to the ECU. But I had the JDM harness with the knock senor plug that had an exposed wire for the ground and I just used it.

I'm not too knowledgeable on Knock Sensor differences but mine look exactly the same (in terms of depth of threads and such). Maybe you have the wrong knock sensor?
