Hey, I was thinking about buying some ksport kontrol coilovers for my 92 accord from ultrarev.com.
link-> Ksport Kontrol Pro Damper Coilover System Honda Accord 1990-1993 :: Coilovers :: Suspension :: UltraRev, Inc.

So, here's my question: Has anyone here bought any parts from ultrarev, or does anyone here actually own ksport coilovers?

Originally, I had my eye on some Tein coilovers with pillowball upper mounts: TEIN - Super Street Coilover System With Pillowball Upper Mounts but the ksport are considerably cheaper.

I searched for ultrarev, and ultrarev.com, but I only came up with 4 threads, so I figured it was worth making a new thread.

Also, if anyone knows where to get them cheaper, please let me know. Ksports or Teins; if I could get the Teins for a couple hundred cheaper, I might go with them.

I have purchased a few things through them and havent had a problem at all. Most recently i order my new spec clutch through them. Just give them a call b4 you order to make sure that they have the item in stock.

K sports are HORRIBLE please do not buy them. you get what you pay for.

the few shock dynos ive seen from them shows that none of them are really even "matched" and the differences between the softest and hardest settings isnt even all that much. they also blow out easy.

i would look into PICs... i dont trust Teins. seen a few of their struts break at the track.

Well, I drive a 1992 Accord, so my options are limited. PIC doesn't make suspension parts for my car.
So, B says Ksports are good, and you, TurboMirage think they are junk.

Those aren't bad. If you're ok with not having height adjust-ability than those would probably work out fine for you...

You know, I was thinking about this thread because of the OG thread. I guess I forgot to update

As far as ultrarev.com in 2008 goes, their service was great, the parts arrived quickly, and the price was on target as well.

The Ksport coilovers are still on the car, and have not blown up yet. I think I've put 50-60k miles on them, and a lot of them have been hard miles. They have held up fine, and I think the problem most people had with them was from running the pre-load too low, in an effort to get maximum lowering. Basically, I think people were running them hella-jdm-slam-tucked, and that's what was causing the failure issues. The only complaint I have connected to longevity is the steel/coating used on the threaded part of the units has some surface rust.

I also remember the install. Everything went pretty smooth except on one of the rear units. It was difficult to get the studs through the mounting holes in the body, and I think this was the result of the studs on the unit being maybe 1mm outside of center compared to a stock unit. Basically, it took some really careful finagling to get the unit in.

Adjusting the ride height is fairly easy, and I actually lifted the car 3/4" about 6 months after initial install to help with steep inclines in and out of driveways and parking lots. As far as the damping adjustment, I've never been too happy with it. The "click" between settings is not a click at all; as a result the settings are very vague, and I use the rotation of the emblem to help with adjustment. The fluid in the dampers is, I don't want to say extremely but, rather temperature sensitive. If the exterior temperature is below freezing, the dampers are noticeably stiffer.

All in all, the Ksport coilovers have been a great bang for the buck, and that's really what my whole car is about. I would recommend them to anyone whose price point matches the coilovers.

    Any questions? :shades:
