Vehicle Appraisal

As most of you know, i got a pretty sweet deal on my S14.

I want to get the car appraised so if it gets stolen i can get paid what the car is worth.

I figured that i should just sit down with the phonebook and look for auto appraisers, call em up, and ask if they have any exp. appraising imported jap vehicles.

I also thought that i should make a list of all the mods on the car and how much it would cost for those parts brand new to give the appraiser a point of refference.

Any tips for how to go about this? Have any of you done this before?

Start talking to your local car clubs (respected ones) and see who they recommend. Usually classic owners go with a dedicated company like Haggerty but they might know some good appraisers.
