    You can easily look into the window and tell if a car is unlocked. They don't have to open it.

    My windows are slightly tinted and the red stickers are no longer on my lock switch so inspecting visually would be very difficult and I really cant imagine a bunch of cops sitting around studying all the different lock mechanisms.
