VSS! speedo isnt working

i just got my honda running again, and remembered that before it died before, that my speedometer wasnt working..

so.. where, on an '89 civic DX (manual trans) would the VSS be located? i know its on the transmission somewhere, but where exactly is it? i cant find it! lol. is it hard to get to?

should be on the top in the rear.

on the firewall there should be a cable leading to the tranny behind the starter. when i did my swap i had the same problem make sure the cable is in the hole correctly and not just sitting there.
