vtec and non vtec distributors

    this may be a dumb question and ive been searching and still no answer. whats the difference between vtec and non vtec distributors

    Umm why? al i can tell you is there are some nonvtec dizzies that can run a vtec engine. Not recommended since you have to modify the dizzy. Which pretty much means you have to cut a leg off and run it with one bolt. Other than that i would say the igniter/coil is slightly stronger when crossing over to vtec?

    i dont know i just pulled the last explanion out of my ass.

    Just run what is recommended.

    A) the don't mount up properly to the head
    B) the internals aren't designed to produce spark past 7000-ish rpms (stock, non vtec redline)
