okay i know vtec should kick in at 5500 rpm, but for some reason mine engage at 4500 rpm. I have a obd2 car completely rewired for obd1 with an obd 1 gsr motor. I check the vtec wiring and its okay. Im also running a stock p72 ecu and only thorwing code 41 for my secondary o2 sensor. So here is my question. Is there any harm by vtec engaging a whole 1000 rpm early?

Get a P28 or a P2T if you want it to engage at 5500 rpm. You have a GSR ECU which engages at 4500 rpm.
